Things I'm Loving...
Welcome to the first edition of Things I’m Loving, a weekly round-up of useful finds and favorites joys and functional favorites that are making life feel more grounded, beautiful, or just a bit easier. I’ll be sharing things I’ve been reaching for lately across fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, and kids. Most of what you’ll find here is thoughtfully made or simply helping me creating a stylish and intentional space.
Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:
yellow ruffle top | flats | cream shorts | yellow jacket | cowl neck top (similar, similar, similar) | knit tank | midi dress | black tee | leggings | jeans
Fashion:
Butter yellow is the new neutral
This color feels like spring and is surprisingly easy to wear. I’ve been eyeing a few favorite pieces to try out the trend, and for me, it’s all about a cute top that can be paired with a classic pair of jeans.
The all-cotton legging search is over
After learning more about the toxic chemicals often found in traditional leggings, I started searching for 100 percent cotton alternatives. Some of the pairs I tried were either too thin or lacked the support I wanted, but the ones from Mate the Label ended up being just right. They're soft, breathable, and made with organic cotton. They've quickly become part of my daily rotation. I love wearing them with socks scrunched down and a big denim jacket when I’m out running errands with the kids.
Steal versus splurge
These cuffed jeans from American Eagle were such a good find…surprisingly soft and comfortable. I even wore them on our recent flight home from LA (I sized up from my regular size for a more baggy fit). The cuff detail makes them easy to style with sandals or a low heel, but they also looked great with my pink LV sneakers. For a splurge, I’ve been leaning toward pieces I’ll wear on repeat, like these organic cotton shorts. With a hot Tennessee summer ahead, I’m focusing on lightweight fabrics that still feel high quality.
versed cleanser | antioxidant balm | caudalie serum
Beauty:
Simple, clean, and actually effective
On our recent trip to LA, I realized I had only packed a few skincare essentials to make traveling with just a carry-on easier. Here’s what I brought, all in my travel containers:
Primally Pure’s antioxidant balm is deeply hydrating and made with ingredients I trust. I’ve been using it at night and always wake up with softer, calmer skin.
Versed face wash is my go-to in the morning. It’s gentle, affordable, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.
Instead of a traditional vitamin C serum, which can sometimes irritate my sensitive skin, I brought Caudalie’s Vinoperfect serum. It’s been a great alternative that helps brighten dark spots without causing any irritation and I love the silky texture.
glass tupperware | slow cooker (similar) | reusable food wraps
Kitchen:
The stainless steel slow cooker I use weekly
I’ve been making a lot of soups and stews lately, and the 360 stainless steel slow cooker has made it so easy. I brown the meat and onions right on the stovetop, then transfer the same pan to the base to let it cook slowly. It’s easy to clean and fits seamlessly into our weekly routine.
Little swaps that make a difference
I’ve been using beeswax wraps instead of plastic wrap for covering fruit and snacks. They’re reusable and keep things fresh without the waste.
These glass containers with bamboo lids have completely replaced our old plastic ones. I divide leftovers into individual lunch portions and store them in glass containers, which makes reheating in the oven the next day super convenient.
striped sweater | red dress | yellow tee | 3 pack of t-shirts | white dress | cowboy boots | t-shirt and leggings set | linen shorts | modeling dough | white tank | peplum top | striped pants
Kids:
Play dough without the weird smell
We’ve been using an all-natural play dough with no artificial fragrance, and it’s become a favorite during quiet time. It keeps the kids focused, and I don’t have to worry about what’s in it.
Poppy’s new boots
Her sparkle cowboy boots are getting too small, so I ordered a new pair with floral embroidery up the side. They’re adorable and I can already tell they’ll be her everyday pick this summer.
Zara cotton basics
I just ordered the kids a few pieces from Zara and was happy to find more all-cotton options this season. The styles are simple, the prices are great, and they’ve been easy to mix and match into their wardrobes.
beeswax candles | cotton bedspread | ruffle glass vase
Home:
Bedding that always gets compliments
This all-cotton ruffle bedding is what we have in the guest room, Jay’s room when she’s home, and I always get asked about it. I love how it pairs with the vintage frames above the headboard. It’s soft and classic with a little bit of charm.
Beeswax taper candles
I’ve been lighting these in the kitchen and dining room. They give off a warm, golden glow and I recently learned that burning beeswax can actually help clean the air. A small detail that makes a space feel more inviting.
The sweetest glass ruffle vase
Every Saturday we stop by the farmers market and grab a few bunches of fresh flowers. Someday I’d love to grow my own, but for now this glass ruffle vase has been my favorite spot to put them. I keep it on the kitchen counter…it’s simple, pretty, and adds a nice touch to the space.
