Things I'm loving: stripes, barn jackets and chic sneakers

Summer is always the hardest month for me to style… maybe it’s a millennial thing, but the “three pieces” rule is stuck in my brain. Layering finally feels like fashion again, not just a tank top and a cute pair of shorts (which has been my go-to this summer).

So I’ve curated my favorites for early fall- pieces that will look cool styled in a variety of ways: cozy stripes that go with everything (all 100% cotton), barn jackets that look lived in but still polished, and sneakers that are chic and practical enough to chase toddlers around outside.

STRIPES:

I posted on my IG story recently the striped tops I got from Zara and they’re so cute! I’m 5’10 and ordered a size medium and they fit great (I got the red on the model below as well as the yellow color too). I have those listed below as well as other I’m loving at the moment as well:

FALL JACKETS:

Barn jackets might feel timeless now, but they had a major moment in the ’90s- think oversized, slightly boxy fits layered over tees and flannels. I always like my jackets oversized and being 5”10 I usually opt for a large or a size 8 so the jackets are always long on my arms and I have room to style layer something underneath it. I added the leather jackets I’m eyeing too!

CHIC SNEAKERS:

I think back to my high school days when I would wear these white stilettos (I found at the thrift store) and wonder how my feet didn’t have the worst blisters. When I worked in retail I would also wear high heels all day too- I LOVED high heels then but now I’m almost always in sneakers or flats, here are my current favorites for the upcoming cozy season:
